Why refusals are recorded
On most chains, a transaction that breaks a rule simply fails. Solana rolls it back and leaves no trace. Cardano keeps the failed transaction only to collect its collateral, with no reason attached. Either way, when someone later asks “who tried to pay this, and why was it stopped?”, the only answer is buried in chat history. Pact records a rule violation as an outcome: the transaction succeeds, nothing moves, and the record stays onchain for anyone to read. What a refusal shows
This is the poisoned invoice from payees and address checks. For a cap or budget refusal, the record also shows the limit and how much room was left.Common reasons
Check a refusal yourself
Open the explorer link on the refusal card. The transaction shows as successful, no tokens move, and the record holds the reason and the numbers above. You don’t need to trust Pact’s servers or the bot: the record is on the chain.Refusals are verified on Solana devnet and tested for trades on Cardano. Refusal cards in the chat arrive with the beta.
